I had looked in there a lot while trying to fix the priblem but I had been looking for buttons or menu options to make the changes. I hadn't thought about just draggings the screens. I have also managed to get the task bar on the correct screen by editing .config/plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc changing lastScreen=1 to lastScreen=0 I am now happy with my config but if I need to fix it in future I'll do as you suggest.
