well, lets see. you do not show all of your commands, that is, the command line prompt, so it is hard to know if you are doing above as 'root' user or as 'user'. you _must_ be 'root'. also, in instructions shown at linixquestions.org site; 07-14-2006, 05:57 AM inuxnewbie82 OR DO u think doing the following is a better Option??? cp -a /media/FC5 /tmp/ Make all changes in /tmp/FC5.
