Well, based on your ifconfig output 192.168.1.1 is your router/wireless AP.  At 
home I
have pretty much the same set up.  You should see....

[egreshko@acer ~]$ traceroute -n 8.8.8.8
traceroute to 8.8.8.8 (8.8.8.8), 30 hops max, 60 byte packets
 1  192.168.1.1  0.787 ms  1.079 ms  1.126 ms

I would guess

ping 192.168.1.1

also fails?

And what is the output of

arp -a
