$ grep compiz .xsession-errors shows nothing which seems to indicate that compiz-mate-emerald wasn't started at all. As said when starting in manually I get compiz (video) - Warn: No 8 bit GLX pixmap format, disabling YV12 image format and all is fine. I solved it now by using a drastical method. Deleting .config/dconf/user and defining things new.
