I tried changing the order as Sam suggested:

[...@samlap ~ ]$ sudo chkconfig --del NetworkManager
[...@samlap ~ ]$ sudo chkconfig --add NetworkManager
[...@samlap ~ ]$ sudo chkconfig NetworkManager on
[...@samlap ~ ]$ ls /etc/rc5.d/S*NetworkManager

and it's still happening.
I'll try turning of NM and hand configure it.



/etc/rc5.d/S23NetworkManager
