Lots of good advice already, so I won't waste bandwidth repeating it all, but I will add an item to Joanne's comment about things a reputable company wouldn't do:

If it reads like it was written by someone from Nigeria - it probably was! This one is actually quite a bit better than most, but it's still quite obvious. Any communications from Google would be a lot more professional than what you received - they would never have let *that* get out the door!
