Without the proper indexes it performance will definitely degrade as it takes longer and longer to look up the dlr. Kannel doesn't optimize the dlr database. You need to do that. What is the significance of changing the dlr-mask from 3 to 7 or 15? Would it not lower the speeds further as it has to deal with calling the dlr-url for two other flags aside from delivered and undelivered? So the actual bind throughput would drop to the half you if you request DLR for any MT. I would suggest to raise dlr-mask from 3 to 7 or 15. I have set the throughput as 300/sec. If I do not use the delivery report, the TPS is consistent and close to 300/sec. However, if I do use delivery report with the above said parameters, the TPS starts from 300 but gradually reduces to less than 25 per second.
