Hi,

Use "pathchar" (Unix) or "pchar" (Windows) to map the throughput of each link to your provider. Beware you should notify your provider beforehand, it generates a lot of traffic.

Subject: kannel connection speed up rate per seconds

Hi all,

wa are making a smpp connection from Oslo to a mobile operator in south America with kannel, the connection is working ok now, and we are sending and receiving sms, but the operator is asking for a better TX rate, now we can send up to 25-30 sms per second, and we need to increase it to 80 sms per second, in some local test we made with a server in Oslo useing smppbox and other server also in Oslo using kannel, we are able to manage that rate without problem, but we can not manage this rate with the south American operator server because the network latency and the servers distance (Norway-south America). We have had configured the throughput with 80 or higher, also we comment it out, but we are no able to get the rate.

we manege with other connection to have this rate, but using severals Tx session, in this case the operator allow us to have just one Tx and one Rx session
there is no VPN between the servers.
I was wondering if there is anything else we can do to improve the traffic speed. Is there a way to calculate the maximum message rate, with taking network ping times into the calculation?

Thanks in advance to every body for the help

Best Regard

Oscar
