True, I am sorry for not mention that before...

And is true too (after gathering more information), that is not a Kannel, 
vSphere or FreeBSD bug, it is a MySQL 5.x-Client bug that crashes in *BSD amd64 
platform.

I just did the exact same setup in FreeBSD i386 and it works like a charm!
