Thanks for the reply, I currently have the trunk versions in three directories 
as:

/root/kannel/gateway/trunk/
/root/kannel/smppbox/trunk/
/root/kannel/sqlbox/trunk/

How smppbox will know where are the compiled Gateway libraries? Or should I put 
all distributions in the same directory? Sorry I am still confused about it....
