Did you try "grep tty /var/adm/messages" ? Beats the hell out of downloading 
freeware :-)

I am also trying out a wavecom. Do you mind teeling me what machine are you 
using? I tried it on an SunFire X2100 wi, but the RS232 port is very low (+/- 
6V). Solaris could see the wavecom, but wavecom couldn't understand Solaris.
