Hello,
for a (free software) project, i'm looking for a free (as in GPLed)
implementation of a client-side wap stack, and i'm wondering if such
a thing does really not exist...
the situation is easily described by:
http://www.google.com/search?q=opensource+"wap+gateway"
http://www.google.com/search?q=opensource+"wap+client"
on the gateway side, there's kannel, which does an impressive job at that,
but seems to implement the higher protcol layers (WSP) only for the
gateway side,
and for the client side... some implementations in obscure languages,
and a few dead links to wmlbrowser.org (which would look promising, but
seems to have disappeared completely?).
The only actual code i have right now is a bit of hacking based on
fakewap from the kannel testsuite.
(wtp/wsp over udp is all i need...)
is there maybe some project or implementation i missed?
does nobody else have interest in such a thing?
is there a interest in/effort to/comments on implementing the client
side in/on top of kannel('s lower level implementations)?
TIA for any replies,
Thorben Thuermer
