Further to my posting on this Earlier

From analysing the logs from Tuesday, I find that there are no CMT's received 
during the problem period. Somehow, the modem has changed its configuration 
from letting me know that a message has arrived to not letting me know.

[Perhaps I need a firmware upgrade.]

I have decided to change over to sim-buffering. I believe that this solution 
will be more robust, and will not suffer the above problem.

I have set the following:

group=smsc
smsc=at2
keepalive=15
sim-buffering=true
my-number=00353851462808

group = modems
init-string = "AT+CNMI=0,0,0,0;S0=000"

If I am doing something crazy here and let me know.
