However, there is not one for 3.7.2: https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/KAFKA/Release+Plan+3.7.2 This appears to be an incomplete fix, but I am wondering if it is worth pursuing a fix in 3.7.2: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/KAFKA-9228 If a 3.7.2 does not seem likely, I will push to test with 3.8.0.
