The PMC for Apache Kafka has invited Jiangjie (Becket) Qin to join as a committer and we are pleased to announce that he has accepted!
Becket has made significant contributions to Kafka over the last two years. He has been deeply involved in a broad range of KIP discussions and has contributed several major features to the project. He recently completed the implementation of a series of improvements (KIP-31, KIP-32, KIP-33) to Kafka’s message format that address a number of long-standing issues such as avoiding server-side re-compression, better accuracy for time-based log retention, log roll and time-based indexing of messages. Congratulations Becket! Thank you for your many contributions. We are excited to have you on board as a committer and look forward to your continued participation! Joel
