org.apache.kafka.clients.tools.ProducerPerformance resides in kafka-clients-0.8.2.1.jar. You need to make sure the jar exists in $KAFKA_HOME/libs/. I use kafka_2.10-0.8.2.1 too and here is the output
% bin/kafka-run-class.sh org.apache.kafka.clients.tools.ProducerPerformance USAGE: java org.apache.kafka.clients.tools.ProducerPerformance topic_name num_records record_size target_records_sec [prop_name=prop_value]* On Tue, 14 Jul 2015 at 05:08 Yuheng Du <yuheng.du.h...@gmail.com> wrote: > I am using the binaries of kafka_2.10-0.8.2.1.
