Why are you using mod_rewrite at all? Just use a NameVirtualHost and set up 2 virtual hosts for your 2 domains to which you could then restrict access accordingly. mod_rewrite seems an unnecessary complication for this task and (assuming you are using shared modules) only increases the memory footprint for each server process.
