OK, one last piece of advice...I looked through the manual for your router, located here: http://web.mit.edu/ghudson/manuals/WRT54G-manual.pdf
And noticed a specific reference to setting up a static IP for your server.....please see page 63. the section titled: DDNS. It is a very specific how-to for your router and DynDNS service.
