I am using Apache httpd 2.0.48 with mod_jk to forward requests to Tomcat
running within a JBoss AS.
Apache is configured to run in prefork mode.
When debugging a service unavailability problem, the
server-status(mod_status) page showed all the configured workers within
Apache as being in "w" state which is never the case when the application
is running well and responding to client requests.
The appserver seemed not to accept any further requests till i had
restarted the JBoss AS.

Would it be correct to interpret this as being that all Apache httpd
workers are busy and tied to the Tomcat threads for a longer than normal
duration? .

Thanks

Ramdas
