I have been searching the web for an answer but didn't come across the
wiki.

I followed the link's instructions and now everything is working as it
should.

( I did modify the main config file )

Requirements

Also, don't confuse htaccess with access control. Despite the name,
that's not its only purpose and you should use the main config file
whenever possible.
