Hi there,
I have an Apache instance (2.0.52) running on RHEL4 built for x86_64.
This server is largely running just fine, except for one issue that I
have encountered in the last couple of days.
I wish to serve a bunch of material from a folder that is mounted as an
NFS share. Apache can see the mount point as a folder before the mount
has taken place - it appears in the fancy index for the parent folder.
However, as soon as I actually carry out the mount, the folder
disappears from the index and I get a 403 returned when I actually try
to look directly at the folder. From the Command Line, I can view and
manipulate the data seamlessly.
The fstab mount line looks like:
1.2.3.4:/foo/bar /var/www/html/content nfs user,rw,auto,async
I have tried setting the owner of the files to user 'apache', and this
was correctly applied to the NFS Server as well but no joy.
Does anyone have any thoughts as to why this might be happening? I
thought that NFS was supposed to be seamless - so I am rather confused
as to why Apache is seeing a difference between regular folders and
NFS-mounted ones!
Many thanks in advance.
