You can use this form but then the VH declarations have to match it. So
you can have:
NameVirtualHost *
<VirtualHost *>
...
OR
NameVirtualHost *:80
<VirtualHost *:80>
...
or EVEN
NameVirtualHost 192.168.1.1:80
<VirtualHost 192.168.1.1:80>
...
But you can't mix them.
