Joshua,

    I looked through the server to see if it were possible to have multiple versions of apache.  Upon looking, I noticed that the apache_common and libapache_mod_php4 packages were installed (for version 1.x of apache), everything else that was installed was for apache 2.x.  I have removed all the 1.x version packages and restarted the web server.
    If I look at my logs, the referrer.log file gets updated correctly, but my error log doesn't.  I checked my virtual host file for any problems there, but couldn't see anything wrong.  Any idea of why this is happening?

Given this and the fact that your logs aren't getting updated, it
sounds like you have multiple apache installs and you are looking at
the wrong one.
