1) Go to the doc page listed above. 2) In the info box, top-left, there is a line "Status". That reads "extension". 3) Click on the word "Status". This takes you to a page that tells you what "extension" means. Namely: "A module with "Extension" status is not normally compiled and loaded into the server. To enable the module and its functionality, you may need to change the server build configuration files and re-compile Apache." In other words, this is a module that you might find useful but that's not popular enough to be included by default into apache. If you want it, you have to compile it specially when you compile apache and then either statically link it into apache or load it dynamically at run-time. To check you don't already have it: 1) Static: go to the apache bin directory, do "./httpd -l". This will tell you all the modules that are statically compiled into apache. 2) Dynamic: Look in the apache modules directory, look for mod_authz_owner.so. If you have it, you can load it with LoadModule (see docs for details). If you don't have it, you have to compile it. Start at http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/install.html and post back if you get stuck.
