I've just subscribed to the groovy.a.o. list using the email address
in the From header of my message to you. All behaved as I expected.
I do not understand what you mean by "log in so that I can submit messages".
Once you have subscribed an address to the list manager, and it has then
accepted your reply to its request for confirmation, to post a message to
the list send mail from your subscribed address (steve.etchel...@gmail.com)
to the list address (users@groovy.apache.org). There's no 'log in' step.
If a list is managed by ezmlm at the ASF, that's how it works.
