I know that is a little bit off topic, and that is already included in SGE
new release with IPMI and a cloud function, but I have coded some bash
scripts to save your cluster energy if it not used at 100% (it works with
WoL).

You can define a minimum level of availability,  queues or nodes to ignore,
number of nodes to wake up at each cycle and the time period for these
cycle, a shutdown priority list... The licence is GNU GPL like.
