Why would I start oiut like that? Because I don't have enough concrete
information to give you a solid report with critical data included. I'm
just "raising a flag" for others. This is almost anecdotal in its quality.

For a while now I've been working on a report that uses multiple parts. The
part that applies here is there's a spreadsheet with a small collection of
info that is dropped into a drawing document. The spreadsheet contains the
"info" that is updated and the drawing document (.odg) contains the framing
for it, header, footer, etc. to make it look nice.

The "Bug" is that if I use my local file system (on a MacBook Pro - 2017
with "Ventura" 13.7.8) everything behaves as I expected it to.

BUT, if I choose to do it on a Dropbox backed directory (shared in Dropbox)
and follow these steps:

   1. Open my "Summary printout" .odg document.
   2. Choose "Insert" -> "OLE Object" -> "OLE Object"
   3. At the create dialog, choose "Create from file"
   4. Choose "Link to file" and then click search to find the document with
   the spreadsheet.
   5. Select the spreadsheet and hit "Open".

Results? Nada. Nothing seems to happen.

IF, at step 4, you do not choose "Link to file" it will insert the
spreadsheet properly.

So, in short, if the spreadsheet isn't on a native file system (so it
seems) then the "Link" option doesn't work.

Just sharing to save some folks some headaches.
