Hi All,
In W10 once you install LO you can visit the Windows search window and type
Writer and when that LIbre Writer appears you right click and choose Create
Desktop Icon - done.
In W11 when I right click it doesn't offer "Create Desktop Icon."
Yes, Microsoft has hidden it.
Open the 'Program'-folder of the installed LibreOffice. Look for file
"swriter.exe". Right-click. Chose item 'Show more options'. Click on
'Sent to' and next on 'Desktop (create shortcut)'. The icon is
automatically the correct icon of Writer.
Also at the LO site how does one just download libre Writer and not the
rest of Libre Office?
LibreOffice is an integrated office package. Thus you can start Draw
while you are working on a text in Writer, for example. Many internal
modules are used by Writer, Calc, Impress and Draw as well. It is not
possible to download only a part of LibreOffice.
When you install LibreOffice you can make a custom installation and
decide which parts you do not want to install and deselect it. For
example, you might not need 'LibreLogo' or 'MediaWiki Publisher'. For an
already installed LibreOffice use the 'Modify' option to disable such parts.
Kind regards,
Regina
