What happens if you "Save As" to create a new document. Is that also
8.1MB. For some reason this is sounding familiar from some years ago.

including the original images? I'd like to get back to something
smaller than the original 4.7 MiB so would welcome ideas for pruning
it back without rewriting from scratch.
