Hi :) The normal route is to use the "bug report" approach and then use one of the drop-downs (or the subject-line) to mark it as a "feature request".
Sometimes things do turn out to be "Easy hacks" AND attract attention from a dev but often it takes quite a while before things do make it into main branch. Even so it is good to have feature requests logged to give people ideas in the future.
