I guess you prefer the Microsoft way of pushing out huge new changes all at once with a new release of Office, thereby forcing all of their users to experience pain unless until they all upgrade?

Sorry, I much prefer the Libreoffice/OASIS/ODF way.

If you want document fidelity across different platforms/programs, use PDF.
