Yes, it's 2 factors.
1.  LibreOffice is one of the very few packages that is good to get
"straight from the horses mouth" with no tweaking
2.  a more recent version, and at the moment that means a much more
stable one because both current branches have just left the "new
features" area and are just getting bug-fixes now
