Personally i think people should try out alternatives because i believe LibreOffice is so much better that people will return to it. With some alternatives they are better for maybe 1 thing, for example i think Gnumeric is a better spreadsheet program but Calc is "good enough" for most cases. There's nothing stopping people from having multiple tools and using whichever they feel like using at the time. Some people have 1 or 2 things that LibreOffice is not great for and have specialist tools, or going to one of the alternatives for a while seems like a great option for them. We don't need one monolithic program that does everything any more. It's better to have a choice of tools.
