I'd like it much better if it weren't so damn slow...on my Macbook with OSX 10.8, it is slower to start than any of OOo, AOO, NeoOffice or LibreOffice. The MDI and tabbed interface (which I happen to like) is/was heavily dependent on Java from what I recall having read on the AOO lists, so I can't see the LO project wanting to have an even greater Java code burden than at present.
