Yes, I also use the "k / n" thingy.

Yet, here in France, the ".../..." at the bottom of pages (eq "to be cont'd") is *very* common since the typewriter days and many people just demand they are there, even though we now use computers <sigh>. Unfortunately, I'm not in a position where I may impose anything. If I had been, I'd have dismissed that ".../..." thing, believe me. Thus, my wish to help my colleagues to get that thing automagically.
