With most projects there are several months or even years between new releases. 
 
Small updates, patches and such-like fill the gap.  


LibreOffice is far more aggressive with development and has full new releases 
more often than most projects have updates.  The 3.3.1 - 3.3.3 do have a full 
years support from their release date so i guess there will be updates but it's 
easier just to upgrade to a newer release.
