GitHub user justinestruch created a discussion: VNF Template For a Fortigate
Hi All, I am having an issue trying to make a Fortigate VNF template for VMWare. Fortinet provides the appliance as an ovf and 2 vmdks. 1vmdk for the OS and the other vmdk is for a data drive. I'm not sure how I would import the OVF and 2 VMDKs into cloudstack to deploy since cloudstack can only use OVA for VMWare? I've tried the below: 1. Deploying the OVF and 2 vmdks directly to vcenter. This works and the appliance boots as expected. 2. Using ovftool to convert the OVF to OVA. This will convert fine and I can deploy it directly to vcenter as well. But when deploying in CS the instance will deploy but won't boot. I checked in vmware and both disks are imported as well as the boot mode is BIOS which is the same as when importing directly to VMware. Also the SCSI controller is correct as LSI Log Parallel in both vmware and CS. So I'm not sure if anyone has gotten a Fortigate VNF to deploy properly on cloudstack?
