Hi,

yes indeed, since I need I quick solution I try to identify if any system performs kind of a throttling. Ceph FS  serves as a secondary storage which in turn is served by the NFS service. The download rate drops significantly around 100GB and maintains ~100kbit/s before the connection gets lost for almost 15 minutes.

What is interesting is that I currently download a large template (1.2TB) this behaviour does not occur. So either there is a throttling configuration which I cannot find, that shrinks every possible volume download to 100GB or it has something to do with the System VM. Further, If the download takes too long due to wget retries (~5-6h), the download link disappears (404 Not Found).

I have created another system offering for Secstorage VM with more CPU and RAM capabilities and I will try this again.

Hi,

I see that you've asked this on Ceph ML as well.

A few questions:
1. Where are you downloading this to? Is this a VM?
2. Please explain how CephFS is coming into the picture.

Like someone pointed out on Ceph ML, this may also be a server side issue.

Thanks

Hello all,

we are experiencing an issue where downloads are throttled to around
100GB with very slow performance, regardless of the available bandwidth.

My questions are:
- Is there a configuration setting in CloudStack that could be
responsible for throttling the download rate?
- Or is this behavior more likely related to CephFS?
