Windows >2008 and virtio network

Hi,

I just noticed that Windows guests, even with 2012 profile will be
provisioned with e1000 network driver opposed to virtio

    </interface>

Is it in some way possible to prevent and use virtio for all windows 2008
and higher guests ?
