First, sorry for the protracted delay since your reply.
(I’m using version 5.17.3, fwiw)

Second, I have been successfully using Apache MQ Classic without receipts (most 
of my traffic is inbound, btw), so that much is going quite well.

To answer your question, though, and hopefully get back to the receipt 
business, quite frankly I am having some difficulty finding the page I was 
reading which referenced log4j…

I will see if I can find it in the next couple of days.
