exceptions when running examples

I've tried running two examples, and both end with exceptions when the 
server exits:

ERROR StatusConsoleListener Unable to create file 
${sys:artemis.instance}/log/audit.log
 java.io.IOException: The filename, directory name, or volume label 
syntax is incorrect

It would be less worrisome if the examples ran without these exceptions.
