Where did you find this recommendation in the documentation? Generally speaking I would expect that you could just ignore those files as the broker will deal with them as necessary. Are you encountering a problem with the files in tmp? > Is it correct put in the Artemis start script the instruction "rm -r tmp/*" ? There are lots of ways to remove the files in the tmp directory.
