Yea, like I said, get the tar file or zip file from your build which is
in ./src/assembly/target/apache-activemq-5.8-SNAPSHOT-bin.tar.gz or zip
(your version number may vary based on what code you grabbed).

extract that and you have the built ActiveMQ broker which
has ./bin/activemq which will start your broker.
