I think it would be worth spending the time on a pure activemq/jms tests case, if there is a bug that will be necessary in any event. It will help tie down the use case and isolate the problem area. For a start, can you open a jira issue and attach some of the exceptions or errors or results that you are seeing and describe what your expectation is.
You can then attach what ever artifacts you need to that issue.
