The problems I'm seeing are in a production environment, so upgrading to a
new major version is not a really an option, unless I can be assured that it
resolves the issues I'm seeing. I am in the process of upgrading the
environment to 4.1.2, which keeps my configuration files the same. Do you
think this will be of any help?
My biggest problem seems to be with that NPE... the posts I found indicate
that that occurs in 5.0 and may be fixed in 5.3, which is not released.
(https://issues.apache.org/activemq/browse/AMQ-1455) This indicates that
this problem (whatever it is) still exists in 5.2.

Do you have any insight on what causes this NPE? The connection are
re-established after that exception is thrown, but as indicated, messages
stop flowing from the producer's broker to the consumer's broker after this
occurs.

Thanks,
Greg

Any chance you could try using 5.2? There have been a lots of improvements
since 4.1.1.

Cheers
