There is a Maven archetype that will create a skeleton web application using ActiveMQ that fetches messages from queues using Javascript that is available here: http://www.webtide.com/resources.jsp There are instructions on that page on how to install and use the archetype from the command line. Once you have created the skeleton web application, you can hack it up all you want.
