I was able to make the problem go away by having Stomp.Connection record each of the destinations subscribed-to and unsubscribe from each as the connection was being destroyed. This may not be necessary in 4.1.1 or 4.2, but it's probably not a /bad/ idea as far as cleaning-up after ourselves is concerned.
