In general, we do not recommend building from the repository unless you are following the discussions on [EMAIL PROTECTED] There is no guarantee that the trunk will be stable, or even build, and we may decide to make sweeping changes at any time. But, if you do follow dev@, then you know as much as the rest of us :) Although, at this point in time, the head is relatively stable, since we are gearing up for the Struts 2.1.x release series. Right now, we're mainly waiting for a couple of XWork tickets to be closed, so that XWork can create a 2.1.0 distribution of its own. But, as Wes indicated, 2.1.x is not a maintenance series, but a firm step forward. The most stable codebase would be the STRUTS_2_0_x branch, which was the basis for the upcoming Struts 2.0.11 release. The successive milestones in a release series are the closest thing we have to a "maintenance" release, but we still add minor features along the way, if we are confident that there will not be a conflict with existing features. In the last seven years, I think we've had exactly two "maintenance" releases that did not include any new features, and both were to answer a security alert. In terms of regular GA releases, we've had a good track record this year, and I don't expect that to change. The best advice for people who do not follow dev@ would be to stick with the "best available release", which is 2.0.9 right now, and may be 2.0.11 real soon now. -- HTH, Ted Attend "Migrating to Ajax" at ApacheCon US 2007: * http://us.apachecon.com/us2007/program/talk/1883 --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
