ooops I looked at the error message again -------------- 18K downloaded [INFO] [tomcat:deploy] [INFO] Deploying war to http://localhost:8080/tutorial [INFO] ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [ERROR] BUILD ERROR [INFO] ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [INFO] Cannot invoke Tomcat manager Embedded error: Connection refused: connect -------------- and figured it needs a running tomcat instance.
So i did mvn tomcat:run and it worked fine.
