how to position the cursor to a form input field with Struts 2

Can anyone tell me how to position the cursor to an entry field in a 
form when the jsp file first loads in Struts 2.  I tried an 
approached described at 
http://simplythebest.net/scripts/DHTML_scripts/javascripts/javascript_111.html 
but it doesn't seem to work.
